Sir Ian McLennan
Sir Ian McLennan (1921-2020) was an Australian politician and diplomat. Born in Metung, he served as the Member of Parliament for the electoral district of Waverley in Victoria from 1970 to 1985. Sir Ian McLennan was also a prominent member of the Australian diplomatic corps, serving as the Australian Ambassador to the United States from 1986 to 1990, and later as Ambassador to Japan from 1990 to 1994.
